Being Tall Has Its Responsibilities Too!
Tall people are not only blessed at being part of the higher echelon of the gene pool, they are more likely to become more privileged later in life. However, keep in mind that there are responsibilities to being a tall person; and most of which are plainly amusing and funny. Look at the bright side of being tall and ensure you perform these responsibilities with gusto and determination!
Watch Out For Spiders’ Webs
Let’s say you’re over 6’3, and you’re walking down a cobwebbed alley. Be sure to keep your head down, not only because you don’t want spiders on your head, but because you wouldn’t want to destroy the home of these creepy crawlies.
Watch Out For Door Frames
One of the downsides of being tall are the chances of hitting your head on a door frame. In some countries particularly in Asia, some door frames are quite low; so the chances of your head hitting a door frame are relatively sky high.
Do Not Place Your Glass On A Shorter Person’s Head
If you’re in a pub, restaurant or on a gathering, you should never place your glass on a shorter person’s head. They will never appreciate you using their head as a table.
Either Be The Center or Power Forward
As they say, basketball is a tall man’s game and if you’re blessed with awesome genes and good health, voluntarily play the role of the 4 and 5 in pickup basketball games. Even if you barely know how to dribble the ball (especially if you’re a European and a soccer fan), just raise your hands up in the shaded area and swat the shots attempted by the shorter opposition – and laugh at the futility of their actions.
Be The Goalkeeper
In pickup soccer games, the goalkeeper is either the fat person or the tall guy. Willingly play the role, even if you’re as mobile as your school’s flagpole. Be prepared to dive for the ball though!
Help People Reach Stuff
Let’s say someone at the grocery store is trying desperately to reach a jar of chocolate hazelnut on top of the shelves. It’s your responsibility to act kindly; tell them “I’ll get it for you” and hand over the thing they’re trying to reach. You’ll definitely get plus points for your kindness!
Don’t Spend Money on High Heels
If you’re taller than average, you may be earning more than your shorter peers – this is according to recent studies. However, you still need to manage your finances and erase unnecessary items from your shopping list. If you’re a girl, there’s no need to purchase stilletos and high heels. Why? Well, you wouldn’t need them anymore. Hooray for flat footwear!
Don’t Sit On The Front Rows
One of the worst things about being tall is having to hear catcalls and jeers from shorter people demanding you to sit at the back in movie theaters. However, keep in mind that their feelings are understandable, which is why it would benefit you a lot if you sit in the back row!
Given your height and the length of your legs, you are likely to outpace your shorter counterparts. Walk slowly in order to cut your companions some slack.
